EPK

Lookout Tower hails from memories of days gone by and of moments yet to come. Storytellers inspired by the cultural landscape of Cape Breton and woven from the yarn of hard times - their songs are the culmination of musical paths not commonly crossed. Defying genres with a no holds barred approach, vintage soul meets modern Americana, where old-time harmonies and bluesy influences are dashed with Acadian roots, creating their original Winter Swamp Sound - a sonic palette of soulful ballads, rousing blues rock and hypnotic funk. They have played Cavendish Beach Festival and Blueberry Jam and organize the yearly Middle River Stomp. Their songs have been featured twice by Gems OnVHS.

‘FIRST CLASS RAFT’ ALBUM RELEASE

‘First Class Raft’, Lookout Tower's third album, is a deep dive into life during its most tumultuous times. Haunting melodies and bluesy rhythms, combined with vivacious lyrics follow you through a mystical, story-filled journey. A sonic palette of soulful ballads, rousing rock, hypnotic funk, old-time cajun and upbeat dance all blend together seamlessly in this varied, but thoughtful collection of songs. It brings you to a world implored by desperation, yet gives you the hope to withstand the struggles. You may be at the bottom, but you can rise to the top and ride the First Class Raft!

This album was recorded and produced by Lookout Tower in a 120 year-old farmhouse in the woods of Cape Breton, mixed by Jon Estes in Nashville (Langhorne Slim, John Paul White, Steelism) and mastered by John McLaggan at Parachute Mastering in New-Brunswick.
